IT SALESPEOPLE GENERALLY STAY WITH A COMPANY FOR THREE YEARS

Robson Taylor has carried out an extensive survey of candidates who registered with the leading IT Sales and Pre Sales Recruitment consultancy.

Consultants at Robson Taylor found that;

• 55% of candidates who recently registered with Robson Taylor have been with their current employer for 2 years or more.

• 40% of candidates who recently registered with Robson Taylor have been with their current employer for 3 years or more.

• 23% of candidates who recently registered with Robson Taylor have been with their current employer for 5 years or more.

• The average length of service for candidates registering with Robson Taylor is 3 years.

• 19% of candidates who registered had been with their last employer for less than a year. A small proportion of these candidates had been working on a contract basis. Many were looking to move because their employee missold the job to them.

Kevin Buller, Robson Taylor’s CEO, said; “We carried out this research to help us and our clients to get an idea of how long people generally stay in a job before looking for something better. Robson Taylor generally recruits for very lucrative opportunities for top companies, so our candidates tend to be very high achieving salespeople that have worked for well established companies for several years who are looking for another permanent job where they can stay for several years.

Mr Buller added: “We understand from previous research that candidates often look to move because they are unhappy in their current position. Many of those surveyed complained that their role had been changed or misrepresented.”
