SOUTHERN SALES EXECS EARN ON AVERAGE + 20 % MORE THAN THOSE IN NORTH
A survey carried out by leading IT and Telecoms Sales Recruiter, Robson Taylor, reveals that you can earn over 20% more if you sell in the South of England, compared with the North.
Robson Taylor has offices throughout England and Scotland and specialises in finding high-level sales people for Telecoms and Technology companies. The company carried out an extensive year long survey which showed that:
• Candidates in the South generally started on 20-21% above the national average starting salary for Sales Executives.
• The average starting salary for Robson Taylor’s Candidates; Sales executives with several years experience and a good track record selling technology or telecoms, is £47K.
• Candidates in Scotland generally command 18% below the national average starting salary for Sales Executives.
• There isn’t a big difference between earnings in London and Bristol and the same goes for Manchester and Birmingham.
Mike Gallagher, Robson Taylor’s Operations Director, has been recruiting sales people for over 18 years. He commented: “This sort of gap in earnings is to be expected. The gap between large corporates and small companies however, is not significant.” He explained: “High performing Salespeople are crucial to companies in this extremely competitive sector and candidates know they can move quite easily if their salary is below par.”
