JOB SEEKERS LOOK FOR SECURITY AND HAPPINESS
Robson Taylor, a recruitment consultancy that specialises in finding high-level sales and pre and post sales people for Telecoms and Technology companies in the UK and Europe, asked several hundred candidates who registered with the company why they were planning to leave their current position.
• 55% of candidates surveyed wanted to leave their current job because they had concerns about the future of the company and or because they were not happy in their current position. Many of those who were not happy complained that their role had been changed or misrepresented. Others were fed up with internal politics.
• 25% of Robson Taylor’s candidates had been made redundant and 10% of those who were made redundant took voluntary redundancy.
• 12% moved because of circumstances such as relocation or because they were working on a contract which ended.
• Only 5% confessed that they were motivated by a desire to earn more money although a further 4% left to ‘further their careers’.
Kevin Buller, CEO of Robson Taylor, said that “It’s not all about money. Sometimes candidates move because they want to progress their career. But many people change jobs because they want more security and or because they are not happy in their current position. In these cases, candidates will often accept a job on the same or even less money if it means they can get out from where they are.”
He added; “If you are not happy in your role or you need to fill a vacancy, Robson Taylor has loads of great IT Sales opportunities and leading IT Sales candidates. See www.robsontaylor.com for more info.
